The (real) Last Chance for the Big Dance

by Montrail on May 4, 2010

After an epic race at Miwok 100k last weekend (congrats to all the finishers!!), there is one final opportunity for the nation’s top ultrarunners to race their way into Western States 100.  This is of course through the Montrail Ultra Cup, race #10, Ice Age Trail 50 in Wisconsin.  The race features both a 50 mile distance and a 50km race, both distances will count for Ultra Cup points, so long as you register online.  There are some big names in the draw and we’re excited to watch things unfold on Saturday.  The Ice Age trail is a historic national trail and provides a wonderful setting for this presigious ultramarathon.  Registration is now CLOSED

With that said, we will soon have a clear look at the final entry list for WS1oo.  We’ll also know how the Ultra Cup standings are looking heading into the series finale.  Once again, the champions will be crowned at the Big Dance in Auburn and the checks (cash money) will be awarded on site.

Thanks to all for participating in the Ultra Cup series again this year, it’s been an excellent year and we’re already looking forward to next season.

Speaking of next season, registration is currently open for Ultra Cup races Where’s Waldo 100k, Mountain Masochist 50 and Bandera 100k/50k, and registration open soon for Vermont 50 (May 25th) and JFK 50 (July 1).  Stay tuned for an announcement regarding next season’s race schedule…
