Weekend Racing Update

by Montrail on June 22, 2010

This past weekend was a pretty epic one for Team Montrail.  Several Montrail athletes who are not racing Western States 100 were active in other races.

Super congratulations to DAKOTA JONES!!!  The kid is only 19 years old, yet he won the San Juan Solstice 50 mile (also known as the Lake City 50) on Saturday with the second fastest time ever, 8:13:00.  This is Dakota’s 2nd 50 mile victory this year, both in very tough and competitive races.  The other was Fruita 50.  See Dakota’s race report below.  Here’s a fun video put together by our Montrail rep who attended the race.

Matt Hart showed that he’s back in fine form with a 6th place finish at San Juan Solstice 50.  Matt acheived his goal of running sub-10 hours and fought off some elevation difficulties to finish a great race.

Both Matt and Dakota wore the Montrail Rockridge trail shoe.

Eric Grossman, our beast from the east, is also proving that he’s coming back into racing form with a 1st place finish at Highlands Sky 40 in West Virginia.

Max King was in New Hampshire for the US Mountain Running Championships, at the Mt. Washington Road Race.  Max finished in 5th place overall and earned himself a spot on the US Mountain Running Team to compete at the World Championships in Slovenia later this year.

Nice work Team Montrail!  Next up, Western States 100!
