How were you introduced to your sport?
Through backpacking. I began wanting to see so much more of the mountains each day out. Trailrunning opened that window.

What inspires you?
People who seek to better their own life and the lives of others.

What advice would you give to newcomers to (your sport) today?
Don’t overdo it. Find training that is sustainable for you and be consistent. Enjoy and love what you are doing.

What’s your favorite pre race meal?
A banana and white chocolate macadamia Clif Bar

What the first thing you look forward to doing after a long run / race?
Sitting down and eating a wonderful meal

How do you balance your training schedule with your “real” job?
I’m running by 5:15AM to start the day and coordinating with friends for trail and track time after work,

Do you have any pre-race/ pre-competition rituals?
I lay out all the necessary gear for race morning and triple check to make sure I have what I will need.

Happy, healthy, and finding humor in each day.
